The 2025 Global Conference on Environment and Sustainable Development has convened in China's Yangtze River Delta region, drawing over 400 participants -- including policymakers, business leaders and scholars from 36 countries and regions.  The event was held at Fangting Shuiyuan, a newly built venue that spans the administrative borders of Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang. Designed as a near-zero carbon complex with photovoltaic tile roofing, the site provided a fitting backdrop for in-depth discussions on sustainable energy, urban renewal, the circular economy and green finance. Many attendees praised China's global leadership in advancing environmental sustainability.
